Truth in Cliches

I have often heard people express "I am so tired I could fall asleep standing up". However, I had never actually seen anyway actually do this.... until last night. Randy has slept very little Thursday night. I think he just had too much on his mind. Right now, work has been very busy for him that I think his racing mind is winning over the new sleep medicine. Then last night (Friday night), I was in his office working on organizing it so of course he had to be in there to "help". I could tell his eyes were getting heavy, but he absolutely refused to go to bed. At one point, he bent down to pick up something he had dropped, but I noticed he wasn't standing back up. When I said his name, he jumped a bit. I asked what he was doing and he sheepishly answered "Meditating?" At that point, I told him we had to stop for the night ~ it was time to get him into bed. As he was getting ready for bed, he kept stopping in the middle of doing things (brushing his teeth, walking into the bedroom, etc) and would seriously just fall asleep standing up.

This morning, he turns to me and says "I don't remember going to bed last night." I answered "That's because you fell asleep before you even got there!"
