Lazy Day!

We had a very lazy day today! Randy's mom and sister are staying at a friend's apartment this weekend to get some quiet alone time (not much quiet time with a ten year old, 3 dogs and 2 cats!). Randy, Cass and I ended up sleeping in this morning. I think we all woke up a little after ten, but no one ventured out of bed until close to 11, so we missed church this morning.

Randy played around on the computer. He likes to search out information on traumatic brain injury and healing from it. We also played a game together, or at least started to. Randy got through just a couple hands of it and wanted to take a break. I also dragged him to the store. He did great with walking around. His balance keeps improving every day.

Randy continues to struggle with finding words today. When he can't find the words he wants, he often searches others that mean the same thing or that can use to describe whatever he can't remember. Then, there are times like today that he pulls things out of nowhere. For example, he was trying to think of "Praying Mantis" and what he came up with was "sleeping tree".

Randy also went through a bunch of the cards that he/we have received over the last 2 months and read through what everyone wrote. That lead to him talking about work and how much he misses it and everyone there.

That was pretty much our day.

One thing I have noticed over the past couple of weeks is that Randy acts a little different when it is he and I than when others are around. When it is just he and I, he has a lot more inflection in his tone and he is able to voice opinions and frustrations. However, whenever others are around, I have noticed he sounds more monotone and is less likely to voice opinions and such.
